Skill level: Intermediate
You will need approximately 56 m of size 3 crochet thread and a 3 mm crochet hook. For the best results, I highly recommend blocking the finished doily to define its shape.
Stitch guide (US terms):
- ch = chain
- yo = yarn over
- sl st = slip stitch
- dc = double crochet
- 4dc-popcorn = make 4 dc in indicated st or space, drop the loop from hook, insert hook in top of first dc of this group and pull up the working loop
- beginning 4dc-popcorn = ch 3 (= first dc), make 3 dc in same st or space, drop the loop from hook, insert hook in top of first dc of this group and pull up the working loop
- sc = single crochet
- bpdc = back post double crochet
- beginning bpdc = sl st from back to front to back again around indicated st, ch 3
- dtr = double treble crochet

Let’s start crocheting!
- Ch 11, sl st in the very first ch, [ch 10, sl st in same ch] x 3 times, ch 5, dtr in same ch. (5 loops – ch 10 spaces)
- Beginning 4dc-popcorn in same space, [ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook] x 2 times, [4dc-popcorn in next space, {ch 4, dc in 4th ch from hook} x 2 times] x 4 times, sl st in first popcorn. (5 4dc-popcorns, 10 dc, 10 spaces)
- Sl st in next space, ch 3 (= first dc), 4 dc in same space, ch 1, [5 dc in next space, ch 1] x 9 times, sl st in first dc. (50 dc, 10 spaces)
- Beginning bpdc around same st, ch 1, [bpdc around next st, ch 1] x repeat around, sl st in first bpdc. (50 bpdc, 50 spaces)
- Sl st in next space, ch 1, sc in same space, ch 2, [sc in next space, ch 2] x repeat around, sl st in first sc. (50 sc, 50 spaces)
Fasten off.
